MySQL Database Changes
The passwords to our MySQL databases are currently being changed. While that’s happening, apps that rely on MySQL may be down for up to an hour.
Gallery Update
Angel Hakka will be upgrading all the galleries on HG to Gallery 1.5.1 this week; most of the work will take place today – Sunday, October 9th, 2005. Impact to the galleries should be minimal and downtime for each individual gallery is expected to take no more than an hour.
Update: Upgrades completed.
Level3 and Cogent "de-peers"
From our ISP:
Network Status DC1 and DC2
Cogent Latency
10/05/05
1:40 pm CDST (-5 UTC)
At 4:30 (CDST) am this morning Level3 “de-peered” with Cogent.
The result is increased latency across the Cogent network. Cogent is working to move as much traffic as possible to other peers.
We are also moving traffic off of Cogent.
Cogent is in negotiations with Level3 to try and resolve this.
If you’re wondering what peering is, here’s an article about it on Wikipedia. There’s nothing we can do about it, but please do know that certain users on the Cogent network may be experiencing increased latency in surfing HG.
Zope FTP
Zope’s FTP service should work now. Please note FTP support is experimental and may go down intermittenly until we have the problem fixed for good.
Problems with Bricolage Server
The server that hosts Bricolage went down earlier today… it was just rebooted and we’re investigating why the server crashed.
