Stay alert ...
We have received a report from staff that his system was infected with spyware after viewing an ad served through one of our pages. We are currently looking through our ad inventory to find and remove ones that are serving malware. There is also a chance that the advertising agent that’s hosting the ad have already removed it from their system, but we would just like to make sure.
In the meantime, please make sure your system’s software is currently up-to-date. This includes all of the following:
- Your operating system
- Your browser (Some popular ones: Firefox, IE8, Opera, Google Chrome)
- Adobe Flash Player
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Quicktime
- Windows Media Player
- Your IM client(s) (MSN Messenger, AIM, Google Talk, Adium, Pidgin, Trillion, aMSN, etc.)
- Your internet firewall (ZoneAlarm, etc.)
- Your anti-virus software and definitions (don’t have one or subscription expired? Try AVG Free or Avast! Home Edition
- Any other software that can be launched from your browser
